Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, gathering critical information and dispatching appropriate resources
- Operate multi-line telephone systems, radio equipment, and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Maintain detailed logs of all calls, incidents, and officer activities
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Coordinate with police, fire, and medical personnel to ensure rapid response
- Remain calm and professional during high-stress scenarios
- Complete all required training modules to achieve full dispatcher certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- No prior experience required – training provided
