Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough passenger and baggage screening using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual search techniques
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against government watchlists
- Identify and report prohibited items according to TSA protocols
- Maintain efficient screening lanes while ensuring 100% compliance with security procedures
- Provide exceptional customer service during high-pressure interactions
- Operate advanced screening technologies including CT scanners and explosive detection systems
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate screening logs
Qualifications
- US citizenship or legal permanent residency status
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Pass comprehensive background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to communicate clearly in English (written and verbal)
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
- Must pass TSA's security screening training program
