In this critical role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for emergency and non-emergency calls. You will coordinate the response of police, fire, and emergency medical services, ensuring the safety and well-being of Jersey City residents.

Responsibilities
- Receive, screen, and prioritize incoming telephone calls and radio transmissions.
- Dispatch appropriate law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical units to incidents.
- Maintain accurate, real-time logs of all calls, incidents, and unit status in the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
- Provide critical information to responding officers and citizens during emergencies.
- Monitor police radio frequencies and communicate with field personnel.
- Assist in training new dispatchers and mentoring junior staff.
- Ensure strict confidentiality of all sensitive information and records.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type 35+ words per minute accurately.
- Proficient in using computer systems and data entry.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- U.S. Citizenship or legal permanent residency status required.
