Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize incoming emergency (911) and non-emergency calls efficiently and accurately.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to the scene of incidents in a timely manner.
- Monitor and operate radio communications equipment and Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain accurate records of calls, dispatches, and unit status using departmental software.
- Assist callers with life-saving instructions when first responders are en route.
- Coordinate inter-agency communications during large-scale events or multi-agency incidents.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Driverβs License with acceptable driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly over radio.
- Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.
- No felony convictions (background check required).
- Must be available to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
