Responsibilities
- Receive, screen, and process emergency (911) and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident locations via radio and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Monitor multiple radio frequencies and maintain constant situational awareness of all active calls.
- Enter and update incident reports, warrants, and property information into departmental databases.
- Provide critical support information to field officers to ensure officer safety and operational efficiency.
- Maintain professional composure during high-stress situations and de-escalate caller distress when necessary.
- Collaborate with other agencies and personnel during multi-agency emergency operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and perform well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation, medical exam, and psychological evaluation.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations.
