Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency (911) and non-emergency calls from the public with the highest level of accuracy and urgency.
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units to incident scenes using a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system.
- Enter and update critical incident information, suspect descriptions, and status updates into departmental records.
- Maintain clear and concise two-way radio communications with field personnel and other agencies.
- Monitor radio frequencies and CCTV feeds to identify potential threats or emergencies.
- Provide accurate directions and assistance to callers during stressful situations to ensure their safety.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely.
- Typing: Ability to type at least 30 words per minute accurately.
- Background: Must pass a thorough background investigation, including a criminal history check and polygraph examination.
- Availability: Must be available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- License: Valid Colorado driver's license is preferred.
