Responsibilities
- Answer incoming emergency and non-emergency calls with a calm and professional demeanor.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services to the scene using two-way radio and computer-aided dispatch systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs of all calls for service and unit activity.
- Monitor city surveillance cameras and traffic systems to assist field units.
- Provide critical information to responding officers and ensure scene safety.
- Handle high-stress situations with composure and effective problem-solving.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type at least 35-40 words per minute.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check, drug screen, and medical examination.
