Responsibilities
- Receive, process, and prioritize emergency (911) and non-emergency calls from the public.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services (EMS) units to incident locations using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Collect and relay critical information (location, nature of call, description of suspects) to first responders to ensure rapid response.
- Maintain accurate, detailed logs and records of all communications and incidents.
- Monitor status updates from patrol units and reassign resources as necessary.
- Provide information and assistance to the public during non-emergency calls.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Texas Driverβs License with a good driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type at least 35 words per minute.
- Strong decision-making and multitasking abilities under pressure.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
- Must pass a background investigation, medical exam, and drug screen.
