Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and empathy
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio equipment
- Coordinate resources during critical incidents and emergencies
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation of all communications
- Provide clear instructions to callers during medical, fire, or police incidents
- Collaborate with law enforcement, fire, and medical teams
- Adhere to all department protocols and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic typing speed of 40+ WPM (test required)
- Ability to remain calm under high-stress situations
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
- Proficient in using computers and multi-line phone systems
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Valid California driver's license (or ability to obtain)
- Experience in customer service or public safety preferred
