Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via phone, radio, and digital systems
- Dispatch appropriate law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel to incident locations
- Maintain accurate incident logs and documentation in compliance with state regulations
- Operate CAD/RMS systems and multi-channel communication equipment
- Provide crisis intervention and calming assistance to callers during high-stress situations
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during complex emergency responses
- Participate in continuous training to maintain certification and procedural knowledge
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in criminal justice preferred
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with high accuracy
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass extensive background check
- Clear speaking voice and exceptional active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure during emergency situations
- No felony convictions or disqualifying drug use history
