Responsibilities
- Process emergency calls and dispatch appropriate personnel using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain precise radio communication with field units during critical incidents
- Enter/update incident data in law enforcement databases with 100% accuracy
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during natural disasters and major events
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to callers
- Train on specialized equipment including NCIC/DCI terminals
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols for sensitive information
- Participate in 24/7 rotational shift coverage with flexible scheduling options
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid North Carolina driver's license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Pass criminal background check and polygraph examination
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn specialized software
- Clear speaking voice and exceptional active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure in emergency situations
