Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls, assess situations, and dispatch appropriate resources
- Maintain accurate radio communication with field units and other agencies
- Enter and update critical information in CAD/RMS systems
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques during high-stress incidents
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major incidents
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA compliance
- Complete mandatory training programs for certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with accuracy
- Proficiency in computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Exceptional active listening and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain calm during critical incidents and multitask effectively
- No felony convictions or domestic violence restraining orders
- Valid Washington State driver's license
