Responsibilities

  • Receive, screen, and process incoming emergency (911) and non-emergency calls with high accuracy and composure.
  • Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident scenes utilizing computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
  • Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers to ensure safety while responders are en route.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of calls, incidents, and officer activities in the dispatch log.
  • Monitor status and location of all emergency vehicles in the field via radio and mobile data terminals.
  • Perform administrative duties, including report generation and data entry, with strict attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively with other agencies, courts, and the public in a professional and courteous manner.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Arizona Class D Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record (CDL not required).
  • Ability to type at least 35 words per minute.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely over a radio.
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation, including a polygraph, drug screen, and psychological evaluation.
