Responsibilities
- Answer emergency/non-emergency calls, prioritize incidents, and dispatch appropriate units
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Operate radio systems, CAD software, and emergency alert platforms
- Coordinate with multiple agencies (fire, EMS, hospitals) during critical incidents
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers until responders arrive
- Update and maintain accurate information in police databases
- Remain calm under extreme pressure during high-stress situations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- US citizenship and valid Arizona driver's license
- Clear criminal background and pass polygraph/drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with accuracy
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure environments
- Strong interpersonal and de-escalation skills
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows OS, MS Office)
- Must pass written/oral exams and panel interview
