Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize incoming emergency (911) and non-emergency calls efficiently and accurately.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incidents using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Monitor police radio frequencies, CCTV surveillance feeds, and AVL (Automatic Vehicle Locator) data in real-time.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all dispatch activities and unit status.
- Provide critical information and instructions to field officers during active incidents to ensure officer safety.
- Assist the public with directions, information, and non-emergency inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Arizona Class D Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely.
- Strong computer literacy and typing skills.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and professional in high-stress and emergency situations.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
