Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for service accurately and efficiently.
- Dispatch law enforcement officers, fire units, and medical personnel to incident locations using two-way radios and Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date radio logs and incident records.
- Provide vital information, instructions, and support to responding units and the public during critical situations.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, security systems, and CCTV feeds to assist in situational awareness.
- Collaborate with other agencies and internal departments to ensure seamless communication flow.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent; completion of a post-secondary education in criminal justice or communications is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly and concisely.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under extreme pressure and stressful conditions.
- Proficient in typing and navigating computer systems quickly and accurately.
- Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
