Responsibilities
- Monitor and process emergency and non-emergency calls via radio and telephone systems.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incidents with speed and precision.
- Accurately enter incident details and status updates into Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Provide clear, calm, and concise information to callers in distress.
- Coordinate with field units to ensure the safe resolution of incidents.
- Maintain detailed logs and records of all dispatch activities and unit status.
- Answer general information calls and assist the public during high-stress situations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly over radio/telephone.
- Ability to remain composed and make quick decisions under pressure.
- Basic computer proficiency and typing skills (minimum 35 wpm).
- Must be at least 18 years of age and reside in the state of Tennessee.
- No felony convictions; must pass a background check and drug screening.
