Responsibilities
- Answer 911 and non-emergency calls with professionalism and urgency
- Accurately assess emergency situations and dispatch appropriate police/fire/EMS units
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident records using CAD systems
- Provide clear instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Coordinate with multiple agencies during complex emergency scenarios
- Monitor radio communications and relay critical information
- Complete comprehensive dispatcher training program
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- No prior experience required – training provided
- Ability to type 35+ WPM (test required post-offer)
- Exceptional communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Valid Nevada driver's license
- Pass background check and drug screening
