Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming emergency (911) and non-emergency calls with accuracy and speed.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incidents using a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system.
- Monitor and maintain a log of all radio traffic, calls, and unit activities.
- Provide vital information to field personnel to ensure safe and efficient responses.
- Update unit status and coordinate multi-agency responses during major events or crises.
- Maintain composure and provide clear instructions in high-stress, life-or-death situations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License is required.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, drug screen, and medical exam.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or legal resident eligible for citizenship.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type accurately and work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
