Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls with professionalism and urgency
- Operate radio systems to coordinate police, fire, and EMS responses
- Enter and update critical information in CAD systems with precision
- Multi-task during high-pressure situations while maintaining composure
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers until help arrives
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during active incidents
- Complete all training modules to achieve full dispatcher certification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- U.S. citizenship and valid Kentucky driver's license
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Ability to type 40+ WPM (tested during application)
- Clear speaking voice with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
- Commitment to completing paid training program (12-16 weeks)
