Responsibilities
- Lead emergency response operations during critical incidents
- Develop and implement public safety protocols for city-wide initiatives
- Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies during crisis management
- Conduct safety audits and recommend policy improvements
- Train junior officers in emergency procedures and compliance standards
- Prepare detailed incident reports and statistical analyses
- Engage with community stakeholders to address safety concerns
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of law enforcement or emergency management experience
- Valid Kansas Peace Officer certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Advanced EMT or Paramedic certification preferred
- Proven crisis management and decision-making skills
- Familiarity with FEMA NIMS and ICS protocols
- Strong written/verbal communication and leadership abilities
