Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD systems
- Dispatch police units efficiently using radio communication protocols
- Enter and maintain accurate incident data in RMS databases
- Provide clear instructions to callers during critical situations
- Coordinate with other agencies (fire, EMS) during multi-agency responses
- Remain calm under pressure while processing high-volume call traffic
- Complete all required training modules within specified timeframe
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Arizona Driver's License (Class D)
- Ability to type 40+ WPM (verified through assessment)
- U.S. citizen and at least 18 years old
- Pass extensive background check and polygraph examination
- Clear criminal history (no felony convictions)
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong problem-solving and de-escalation skills
