What You Will Do:
You will serve as the primary point of contact for emergency and non-emergency calls, ensuring the safety of our citizens and officers.
Responsibilities
- Receive and process 911 and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical assistance with speed and accuracy.
- Dispatch appropriate law enforcement, fire, and EMS units to incidents based on situational assessment.
- Maintain accurate records and logs of all communications, incidents, and unit activities in the CAD system.
- Monitor police radio frequencies for officer safety, traffic conditions, and special events.
- Provide essential information to the public, including directions, weather alerts, and community updates.
- Assist in the training of incoming personnel during the probationary period.
- Perform quality control checks on calls to ensure service standards are met.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to type 30-40 WPM and navigate computer systems quickly under pressure.
- Must successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation, drug screen, and medical examination.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must remain calm and professional during high-stress emergency situations.
