Responsibilities
- Process 911 and non-emergency calls with calm professionalism and accuracy
- Dispatch police units, fire services, and emergency medical teams during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed records of all communications and incidents in CAD/RMS systems
- Provide life-saving instructions via phone during medical emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during large-scale incidents
- Operate radio equipment and specialized communication technology
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED required)
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Minimum 35 WPM typing speed with 90% accuracy
- Proficient in computer applications and multitasking
- Strong situational judgment and crisis management abilities
- Clear verbal communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish a plus)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
