Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate multi-channel radio communication systems to receive and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls efficiently.
  • Enter and update critical incident data, including suspect descriptions and incident details, into Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems with high accuracy.
  • Direct law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel to incident locations and provide real-time status updates.
  • Maintain situational awareness and coordinate resources to resolve incidents safely and quickly.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with diverse populations, including callers in distress, to gather necessary information and de-escalate situations.
  • Perform clerical duties such as preparing reports, maintaining logs, and answering non-emergency phone lines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong typing skills (minimum 35-40 WPM required).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
