Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming emergency and non-emergency calls with high accuracy and urgency.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident locations using CAD systems.
- Maintain real-time status of all active units and provide critical updates to field personnel.
- Enter and update incident reports, warrants, and citations into department databases.
- Provide pre-arrival instructions and location details to callers to ensure their safety.
- Monitor security camera feeds and access control systems to assist in situational awareness.
- Collaborate with other dispatch centers and support agencies during multi-agency incidents.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in criminal justice or emergency services preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid Arizona Class D Driver's License.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly over radio and telephone.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, sound decisions in high-stress environments.
- Proficient typing skills and ability to learn new computer software quickly.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check and medical evaluation.
