Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls from the public and law enforcement personnel
- Operate radio communication systems to dispatch appropriate units to incidents
- Enter and update information in CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems
- Provide clear, concise instructions to callers during emergency situations
- Coordinate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Maintain accurate records of all communications and activities
- Adhere to department policies and procedures during all operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum age of 18 years at time of appointment
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status
- Ability to pass background investigation, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Clear typing certificate of 40+ WPM
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong multi-tasking and decision-making abilities
