Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate radio communication with field units during emergencies
- Enter/update incident data in real-time using computer-aided dispatch systems
- Provide pre-arrival emergency instructions to callers (CPR, first aid)
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Document all interactions and maintain detailed call logs
- Operate multiple communication systems simultaneously
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with accuracy
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Proficient in basic computer applications (Windows, MS Office)
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
- Must be US citizen or authorized to work in US
