Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch appropriate emergency services (police, fire, EMS) using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation per department protocols
- Provide critical information to field units during ongoing incidents
- Operate radio equipment and multi-line telephone systems efficiently
- Remain calm under high-pressure situations while delivering clear instructions
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain certification and skill proficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred
- Must pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 90% accuracy
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments with minimal supervision
- Valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn specialized software quickly
- Fluent English proficiency; bilingual (Spanish) candidates strongly encouraged
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
