Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via 911 and business lines
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate radio communication with field units
- Enter and update critical information in law enforcement databases
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers during emergencies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Document all calls and activities with precise detail
- Operate radio equipment and emergency communication systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 18 years of age (21 for sworn positions)
- Valid California driver's license
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with accuracy
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Proficiency with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Strong multitasking and crisis management skills
- Fluency in English (bilingual Spanish/English preferred)
