Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls using CAD/RMS systems
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units with precision and urgency
- Maintain detailed logs and documentation of all communications
- Provide critical information to field units and coordinate resources
- Operate radio equipment, telephones, and computer-aided dispatch systems
- Remain calm during crisis situations and relay information accurately
- Adhere to department policies and legal protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM (verified by typing test)
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Clear speaking voice with excellent communication skills
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn specialized software
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
