Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD systems with 100% accuracy
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units during critical incidents
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and resource allocations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during large-scale emergencies
- Provide life-saving instructions via phone during medical crises
- Operate radio equipment and specialized emergency communication tools
- Adhere to NIMS protocols and departmental SOPs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Exceptional communication and multitasking abilities
- Ability to remain calm during high-pressure emergency situations
- Basic computer proficiency (typing test required: 40 WPM)
- No criminal record (felony convictions disqualify)
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including nights/holidays
