Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate multi-channel radio systems to receive emergency and non-emergency calls.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units in response to incidents.
- Collect and transmit essential information to field units via telephone, radio, and computer-aided dispatch (CAD).
- Update and maintain accurate records of calls, incident reports, and resource status.
- Provide emergency instruction to citizens in life-threatening situations.
- Collaborate with other emergency services and agency personnel.
- Complete required training modules and shadowing assignments as a trainee.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Excellent typing skills (minimum 35-40 WPM) and computer proficiency.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under high-pressure situations.
- Valid Arizona Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- No felony convictions or domestic violence convictions.
