Responsibilities
- Receive and accurately process incoming emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to locations with precision and speed.
- Maintain detailed logs and records of all communications and unit activities using CAD systems.
- Monitor radio frequencies to provide real-time status updates to field personnel.
- Provide information and assistance to the public in a calm, professional, and empathetic manner.
- Assist in the training of new dispatchers and support the operations center during peak hours.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the continuity of public safety services.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Must possess a valid Arizona Class D Driver's License.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly and concisely.
- Ability to multitask effectively and prioritize tasks in high-pressure situations.
- Strong typing skills (minimum 35-40 words per minute).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, drug screen, and medical evaluation.
- Previous call center or public service experience is a plus but not required.
