Responsibilities

  • Receive, screen, and process emergency (911) and non-emergency calls for service with accuracy and urgency.
  • Monitor police radio frequencies and dispatch units to incidents in progress or pending.
  • Enter and update incident reports, warrants, and property records into the CAD system.
  • Communicate critical information to field officers, fire departments, and EMS personnel to ensure a coordinated response.
  • Maintain a high level of situational awareness and prioritize calls based on threat level and resource availability.
  • Provide clear, professional, and compassionate service to the public over the telephone.
  • Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and state regulations regarding emergency communications.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. Citizen.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Excellent typing skills (minimum 35 WPM) and proficiency with Windows-based computer applications.
  • Ability to remain calm, composed, and professional under stressful and high-pressure situations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak clearly over radio and telephone.
  • Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, drug screen, and medical examination.
