Responsibilities
- Process incoming emergency/non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units using CAD systems
- Maintain detailed call logs and incident documentation
- Provide clear instructions to callers during critical situations
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during large-scale incidents
- Operate radio equipment and specialized emergency software
- Remain composed under extreme pressure during crisis scenarios
- Continuously update protocols and training certifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (required)
- Minimum age 18 years (must be U.S. citizen)
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (verified assessment required)
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check
- Clear speaking voice with strong communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency with willingness to learn new systems
- Valid Texas driver's license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
