Responsibilities
- Sort and organize mail/packages by delivery routes using automated sorting systems
- Safely operate delivery vehicles while navigating urban and suburban Chicago neighborhoods
- Load/unload mail containers with proper weight distribution and safety protocols
- Process customer transactions including registered mail, parcel services, and money orders
- Complete delivery manifests and maintain accurate delivery records
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Adhere to USPS regulations and service standards for on-time delivery
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois driver's license with clean driving record (minimum 2 years)
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs regularly and operate manual/automated equipment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong knowledge of Chicago neighborhoods and street navigation
- Ability to work in all weather conditions with physical stamina
- Basic computer literacy for package tracking systems
- Customer service experience preferred
- Background check and drug screening required
