Responsibilities
- Sort and Process Mail: Efficiently sort mail and packages by size, shape, and destination to ensure timely delivery.
- Load and Unload Vehicles: Safely handle and load mail onto delivery vehicles, ensuring parcels are secure for transit.
- Deliver Mail: Follow assigned routes to deliver mail and packages to residential and business customers with accuracy and care.
- Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions and resolving any delivery issues professionally.
- Physical Stamina: Maintain a high level of physical fitness to handle the demands of the job, including lifting packages and walking long distances.
- Vehicle Operation: Operate USPS vehicles (trucks or vans) safely and adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License: A current, valid driver's license (Class C) is required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs repeatedly and stand/walk for extended periods.
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident alien with the ability to pass a background check.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact politely with the public.
