Responsibilities
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health strategies targeting Detroit's unique health disparities
- Oversee $5M+ grant-funded programs including immunization initiatives and chronic disease prevention
- Collaborate with city officials, healthcare providers, and community organizations to coordinate response protocols
- Analyze epidemiological data to inform policy recommendations and resource allocation
- Manage cross-functional teams of 15+ public health professionals and contractors
- Prepare federal/state compliance reports and manage departmental budget
- Lead crisis response coordination for public health emergencies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in government or non-profit public health management
- Valid Michigan Public Health Administrator certification (MPHA)
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI) and health information systems
- Demonstrated success in securing federal/state health grants ($1M+ projects)
- Knowledge of CDC guidelines and Michigan public health statutes
- Exceptional crisis communication skills and community engagement experience
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel across Detroit neighborhoods
