Responsibilities
- Develop and implement public health strategies addressing chronic disease prevention and maternal/child health disparities
- Oversee emergency response protocols including pandemic preparedness and natural disaster coordination
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health threats and recommend intervention strategies
- Manage grant applications and compliance for federal/state public health funding programs
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives focused on health equity in underserved Chicago communities
- Supervise public health investigators and community outreach teams
- Prepare reports for federal agencies including CDC and HRSA
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in public health program management
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification
- Expertise in Chicago's public health landscape and community demographics
- Strong analytical skills with experience in health data interpretation
- Experience with federal grant management (e.g., HRSA, CDC funding)
- Valid Illinois driver's license and ability to travel citywide
- Proficiency in public health informatics systems (e.g., Epi-Info, SAS)
