Responsibilities
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify disease trends and inform public health interventions
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations for City Council and health department leadership
- Coordinate emergency response protocols for public health crises
- Manage grant-funded projects totaling $500K+ annually
- Collaborate with community stakeholders to implement health education programs
- Prepare comprehensive reports for federal/state health agencies (CDC, VDH)
- Lead cross-functional teams on public health initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in government/public health administration
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, SAS, R)
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification
- Experience with federal grant reporting (HRSA, CDC)
- Knowledge of Virginia public health regulations and compliance
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement
- Valid Virginia driver's license
