Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency response operations during public health crises (pandemics, natural disasters, bioterrorism)
- Lead inter-agency task forces including hospitals, EMS, and community organizations
- Develop and execute emergency preparedness plans for vulnerable populations
- Manage real-time data analysis for situational awareness and resource allocation
- Conduct public risk communications through multiple channels
- Oversee field operations including mass vaccination sites and quarantine facilities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health regulations
- Train emergency response personnel on public health protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years experience in public health emergency response or disaster management
- Incident Command System (ICS) certification (FEMA 100/200)
- Expertise in crisis communication and multi-agency coordination
- Experience with public health data systems (e.g., Epi-Info, NEMSIS)
- Valid California driver's license and ability to work 24/7 during emergencies
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish highly desirable
- Knowledge of LA County's public health infrastructure and resources
