Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency response operations during public health crises including disease outbreaks and natural disasters
- Develop and implement disease surveillance protocols for real-time threat detection
- Lead community outreach initiatives to educate residents on emergency preparedness
- Collaborate with hospitals, EMS, and state agencies for unified emergency response
- Manage public health data systems and generate actionable intelligence reports
- Train healthcare personnel on emergency response protocols and PPE procedures
- Conduct post-incident reviews to improve response strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- Florida Public Health Emergency Response Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Proficiency in emergency management software (e.g., WebEOC, ESRI GIS)
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work 24/7 shifts during emergencies with on-call rotation
- Strong bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish)
- Experience with grant writing for federal emergency preparedness funding
