Responsibilities
- Develop and implement emergency response protocols for public health crises including natural disasters and pandemics
- Coordinate cross-agency response efforts with FEMA, CDC, and local healthcare providers
- Lead public communication strategies during emergencies, ensuring clear dissemination of critical information
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for Seattle's diverse neighborhoods
- Manage emergency supply chain logistics and resource allocation systems
- Train public health staff and community responders in emergency procedures
- Prepare detailed incident reports and post-event improvement recommendations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years experience in government/public health emergency response
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent credential required
- Proven crisis communication experience with diverse community stakeholders
- Advanced knowledge of NIMS/ICS frameworks and FEMA protocols
- Exceptional decision-making abilities under high-pressure conditions
- Strong data analysis skills with emergency management software proficiency
- Valid Washington State driver's license
