Responsibilities
- Develop and execute emergency response protocols for natural disasters, pandemics, and public health threats
- Coordinate multi-agency operations with FEMA, CDC, and local emergency management teams
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for at-risk communities
- Train public health staff and community volunteers in emergency response procedures
- Manage emergency supply chains and resource allocation during crises
- Prepare detailed incident reports and post-event analysis for state and federal partners
- Lead public awareness campaigns during health emergencies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- FEMA certifications (IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800)
- Experience with NIMS/ICS frameworks and incident command systems
- Strong knowledge of federal grant reporting requirements (FEMA, HHS)
- Excellent communication skills with diverse stakeholders
- Valid Kentucky driver's license and ability to work irregular hours during emergencies
- Proficiency in GIS mapping and emergency management software
