Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency response operations during public health crises including disease outbreaks and natural disasters
- Develop and implement public health emergency preparedness plans in collaboration with state agencies
- Lead community outreach initiatives to educate residents on health risks and protective measures
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging threats and inform intervention strategies
- Train healthcare providers and first responders on public health protocols and emergency procedures
- Manage grant-funded emergency response programs and ensure compliance with state regulations
- Serve as primary liaison between local government, healthcare systems, and state health departments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public health emergency response or healthcare emergency management
- Certification in Incident Command System (ICS-300) or equivalent emergency management credential
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex epidemiological data
- Experience developing public health education materials and community outreach programs
- Proven ability to coordinate multi-agency response efforts during crisis situations
- Excellent communication skills with ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences
