Responsibilities
- Lead emergency response operations for public health crises including disease outbreaks and natural disasters
- Coordinate multi-agency emergency management protocols with FEMA, HHS, and local health departments
- Develop and implement public health emergency preparedness plans for vulnerable populations
- Manage incident command systems (ICS) during public health emergencies
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for emerging health threats
- Train public health staff and community responders on emergency procedures
- Prepare federal grant applications and compliance reports for emergency response programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent incident command certification
- Expertise in developing emergency preparedness plans and conducting tabletop exercises
- Strong knowledge of federal emergency management frameworks (NIMS, ICS)
- Experience managing grants from CDC, FEMA, or HHS
- Ability to work 24/7 during emergency activations with flexible scheduling
