Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency response operations during public health crises (e.g., disease outbreaks, natural disasters)
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans for vulnerable populations
- Liaise with federal, state, and local agencies including LACDPH and City of Long Beach
- Manage data-driven surveillance systems to track health trends and threats
- Oversee community outreach programs for health education and resource distribution
- Lead incident command system (ICS) activations during emergency events
- Prepare grant proposals and manage federal funding allocations
- Train staff and community partners on emergency protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years experience in public health emergency response or disaster management
- Certification in Incident Command System (ICS-300) or higher
- Proven ability to coordinate multi-agency partnerships
- Expertise in epidemiological data analysis and reporting
- Strong grant writing and budget management skills
- Experience with crisis communication and public messaging
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
