Responsibilities
- Coordinate county-wide public health emergency responses including pandemics, natural disasters, and bioterrorism events
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans in collaboration with federal/state health agencies
- Lead crisis communication strategies for diverse community stakeholders
- Analyze epidemiological data to inform real-time response decisions
- Train and deploy public health volunteers during emergency activations
- Manage grant funding for emergency response initiatives
- Conduct post-emergency reviews and update response protocols
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field
- 3+ years experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent preferred
- Expertise in epidemiological data analysis and emergency planning software
- Proven ability to coordinate multi-agency responses under pressure
- Strong crisis communication skills with diverse populations
- Valid Virginia driver's license and ability to work irregular hours
