Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency response operations for public health crises including disease outbreaks and natural disasters
- Develop and implement community health education programs targeting vulnerable populations
- Analyze epidemiological data to inform public health policy and resource allocation
- Liaise with federal, state, and local health agencies to ensure coordinated response efforts
- Manage grant-funded health initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Train healthcare personnel and community volunteers on emergency protocols
- Lead public awareness campaigns for health prevention and emergency preparedness
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- Certified in Incident Command System (ICS) and NIMS protocols
- Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, R, or SAS) and GIS mapping
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to translate technical data
- Experience working with diverse communities and underserved populations
- Valid Louisiana driver's license and ability to work irregular hours during emergencies
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred
